PXE 진행 과정

기준 환경

• PXE 서버 IP
  • 17.3.115.126
• 대상 서버 대역
  • 17.3.115.0/24
• 설치 OS
  • Rocky Linux 9.7 (추후에 마이그레이션 가능)
  • 버전 선택할 때는 무조건 최신 버전 사용이 아닌 안정성을 고려하여 선택
• 방식
  • PXE + Kickstart 자동 설치
• UEFI / BIOS 둘 다 대응

 

전체 흐름 정리

(1) 필요한 패키지 설치 및 확인

• 설치 여부 확인
  • rpm -qa | egrep "dhcp|tftp|syslinux|httpd|grub2-efi|shim"
• 패키지 설치
  • dnf install -y dhcp-server tftp-server syslinux httpd grub2-efi-x64 shim-x64
• DHCP 설치 확인
  • rpm -qa | grep dhcp-server
• 디렉토리 구성
  • /var/lib/tftpboot : PXE 부팅용 파일
  • /var/www/html : Rocky 설치 파일 + Kickstart

 

(2) DHCP 설정

option arch code 93 = unsigned integer 16;

• 설정 파일 작성
• `/etc/dhcp/dhcpd.conf`에 작성 (패키지 설치하면 파일은 자동으로 생성되어 있음)
• option arch code 93 = unsigned integer 16;
  • 클라이언트 아키텍처 타입 정의
  • PXE 클라이언트가 BIOS인지 UEFI인지
•  authoritative;
  • 공식 DHCP 서버 선언
• next-server 17.3.115.126;
  • PXE 서버 위치
• IP 설정은 같은 네트워크 대역 안에서 지정
• 설정 파일 문법 검사
  • dhcpd -t -cf /etc/dhcp/dhcpd.conf

 

(3) ISO 마운트

• 로키 Minimal 사용
• ISO 파일 준비

• 확인
  • ls /mnt/iso
  • images, EFI 등의 폴더(파일)이 보여야 함

 

(4) 부팅 파일 복사 (TFTP)

• 설치 ISO 전체를 주는 것이 아닌, 부팅에 필요한 최소 파일을 TFTP로 제공
• 필요하다면 파일에 권한 설정 (파일을 읽지 못할 수도 있음)

• vmlinuz(커널)로 부팅
• initrd.img로 설치기 올림
  • 초기 부팅용 임시 루트 파일 시스템
  • 아나콘다 설치기, 드라이버, 네트워크 기능 등이 들어있음

 

(5) Rocky 설치 파일 복사 (HTTP)

ls /var/www/html/rocky/9.7/repodata # Minimal도 repodata 존재해야 함

• HTTP 폴더로 로키 마운트 복사

 

(6) PXE 메뉴 작성

• `/var/lib/tftpboot/grub.cfg`에 작성
• 해당 파일 위치
  • 위와 동일

주의!

• 지금 상태는 `/var/www/html/rocky/9.7`가 아닌 `/var/www/html/rocky/9.7/Minimal`에  `/repodata/repomd.xml`가 위치해 있음
• PXE 메뉴에서 repo 위치를 `/rocky/9.7`로 잡아놨기 때문에 `/Minimal` 폴더 안에 있는 파일들을 모두 꺼내줘야 함
• 정확한 이유는 모르겠지만 PXE 메뉴에서 repo 경로 뒤에 `/Minimal`을 붙이는 걸로는 해결이 되지 않음

 

(7) Kickstart 설정 작성

(8) 서비스 시작

(9) 방화벽 허용 (포트 오픈)

(11) 대상 서버 PXE 부팅 시 로그 확인

• 로그 확인은 PXE 서버에서 진행

 

위 과정 진행 후 안되는 원인

• .treeinfo 경로 못찾음
  • 이 파일은 지금 과정(Minimal 사용)에선 없어도 무관한듯 함 (파일이 존재하지 않음)
• repodata/repomd.xml 경로 못찾음
  • 설정 파일(default, grub.cfg)에서 rocky/9.7을 repo 경로로 설정한 상태인데 실제로 repodata는 Minimal 폴더 안에 들어있음
  • 먼저 repo 경로 끝에 /Minimal을 붙여봤는데 에러 발생함
  • Minimal 내부의 폴더들을 설정한 repo 경로로 옮기니 해결됨

 

대상 서버에서 어드민 계정 추가
